A Perfect Wedding
Inviting the Author of Romance to make your day Beautiful
When we reach our graying years and we gaze back upon our life, it will be our wedding day, perhaps more than any other day that we can look to as either the start of something great or the start of something grating.
Chapter One
What Ever Happened to
Happily Ever After?
“So, Eric, we hear you and Leslie are getting married? That’s great! Congratulations! Just make sure you soak up the romance while you can – because once the honeymoon is over…it’s really over!”
From the day Leslie and I announced our engagement, we were showered with congratulations, best wishes…and wet blankets. Plenty of well-meaning people did their best to prepare us for the “dismal reality” of marriage. We heard enough tales about stale romance, annoying habits, and insensitive marriage partners to last us well beyond our golden anniversary.
What ever happened to happily ever after?
It’s been about ten thousand years now since Adam and Eve first tied the proverbial knot and launched the marriage industry with an unceremonious market crash. That very first marriage didn’t get off on the best footing with that snake and that apple and all. Add to that the eviction notice that soon followed and you’d have to wonder where the concept of “happily ever after” really came from.
