About Eric and Leslie's Ministry

A message from Eric and Leslie

We feel called to help our generation discover vibrant, historical, world-changing Christianity. That call has taken many different forms throughout the course of our ministry. For over eight years, we had the privilege of touring and speaking around the country, challenging young people to surrender their love life – and every other area of their life – to Jesus Christ. It was thrilling to interact with hundreds of thousands of young people, and be a small part of His incredible, supernatural work in their lives. But living full-time on the road definitely took its toll on us physically. Three years ago, we made a transition out of full-time touring. And now, though we continue to travel speak on a limited basis, we have begun to focus more on the training and discipleship of young Christians who truly desire the fullness of Christ. There are several ways God is bringing this vision into focus:

Discipleship Training School in Colorado:

The more time we have spent around the younger generation, the more we have become aware of their acute need for training in historical Christianity, a deeper grasp of the Bible, and practical understanding for how to live the true Christian life in today’s post-modern world. For years we have envisioned a training center where eager young future leaders could come for a semester or a year and be trained in the deeper Christian life. Our desire is to help them gain a foundation in historical Christianity and be truly equipped to impact the world for God’s kingdom. We have received hundreds of requests for this kind of training from young people around the country and the world who have seen something in our books and messages that they are hungry for and are not finding in many Christian colleges or Bible schools.

Because of all our other commitments, we haven’t been able to make the training center a primary focus until recently. But recently, we have been feeling more and more God’s nudge to focus in this direction. For the past year, we have devoted a large percentage of our time to the development of an intensive spiritual training program for young adults. We have been discipling our own ministry team using this training program, and the results have been thrilling to see.

We are currently praying for God’s provision for a facility to house this training center. Specifically, we are praying for land upon which to build this training center and house our ministry headquarters. Land in Colorado is not very affordable, but we’ve been actively searching and praying for the right location. Once we have a facility up and running – which we hope will be within the next year or two – we plan to launch a year-long training program for young men and women who desire to embark upon the endless frontier of the Christ-enabled life.

Set-Apart Life Online Sanctuary:

We are working to transform this website into a place rich with resources for deepening your relationship with Christ and living a set-apart life for Him. Eric and Leslie have developed an intensive discipleship program that will soon be available in audio download format, with ongoing training sessions being continually added. We are also producing audio narratives – artistic radio-show-style programs that discuss that explore practical, day-to-day elements of the set-apart life, such as masculinity, femininity, family relationships, relating to the opposite sex, and the adventurous Christian existence. And we will be making classic Christian literature available – books that are hard to find or out-of-print, but that have had a life-changing impact on our walk with Christ. Currently, we are praying for funding for our full-time website architect, who currently volunteers his time, as well as funding for the audio productions we are developing.

Ministry for Young Women:

Leslie’s ministry to young women has blossomed since the release of Authentic Beauty – her best-selling book for teen and college-age girls about becoming set-apart for Christ. For the past three summers, we have hosted “Authentic Girl Weekends” – intimate three day retreats in Colorado that draw young women from around the country who desire to live a set-apart life of true purity and devotion to Christ. They have drawn incredible girls from around the country. The interest from set-apart young women in this ministry has been overwhelming.

Last fall we were blessed to have six incredible young women move to Colorado to assist Leslie with this ministry. Leslie and the team are developing study guides, nationwide discipleship groups, an online discipleship program, national conferences and possibly even a monthly magazine for young women – all centered on living a life set-apart for Christ. (If you are interested in learning more, please visit www.authenticgirl.com.) The six young women on Leslie’s team are trusting God for daily provision, and we are currently praying for funding for our conferences and other ministry outreaches to young women.

Our Current Needs and Prayer Requests:

For all of you who have stood by us with prayer, encouragement and financial support, we want to express our deepest thanks and gratitude. Here is a summary of what our current needs are:

  • Funding for land on which to build our discipleship training school
  • Funding for our ministry staff
  • Funding for our girl’s ministry (conferences, retreats, etc)

We ask that you would pray with us about these needs. If you are willing and able to give financially to our current ministry needs, we would be humbled and blessed. And if not, please know that simply your prayers mean so very much!
